R. 8483 To take certain land in the State of California into trust for the benefit of the Barona Group of Capitan Grande Band of Mission Indians of the Barona Reservation, California, and for other purposes. _______________________________________________________________________ IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES April 23, 2026 Mr. Issa introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Natural Resources _______________________________________________________________________ A BILL To take certain land in the State of California into trust for the benefit of the Barona Group of Capitan Grande Band of Mission Indians of the Barona Reservation, California, and for other purposes. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. This Act may be cited as the ``Barona Group of Capitan Grande Band of Mission Indians Land Transfer Act of 2026''. SEC. 2. LAND TO BE TAKEN INTO TRUST FOR THE BARONA GROUP OF CAPITAN GRANDE BAND OF MISSION INDIANS. (a) In General.--Subject to valid existing rights and the conditions described in subsections (c) and (d)-- (1) administrative jurisdiction of Parcel 2 and Parcel 3 is transferred to the Secretary; and (2) the covered land is taken into trust for the benefit of an Indian Tribe. (b) Administration.--The land taken into trust under subsection (a) shall be-- (1) part of the reservation of the Tribe; and (2) administered in accordance with the laws and regulations generally applicable to property held in trust by the United States for the benefit of an Indian Tribe. (c) Conditions.--The land taken into trust under subsection (a) shall be subject to-- (1) all valid liens, rights-of-way, reciprocal road rights- of-way agreements, licenses, leases, permits, and easements existing on the d
