Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. This Act may be cited as the ``287(g) Expansion Act''. SEC. 2. AUTHORIZATION OF INCREASED EDWARD BYRNE MEMORIAL JUSTICE ASSISTANCE GRANT ALLOCATION FOR JURISDICTIONS THAT ENTER INTO A 287(G) AGREEMENT TO ENHANCE IMMIGRATION ENFORCEMENT. (a) Applications for Increased Grant Funding.--Notwithstanding section 505 of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 (34 U.S.C. 10156), any State or political subdivision of a State that has entered into a written agreement with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, in accordance with section 287(g) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1357(g)) (referred to in this section as a ``287(g) Agreement''), may submit an application to the Attorney General to receive an increased allocation under such section in accordance with subsection (b).
