Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. TRANSMISSION OF OPIOID PRESCRIPTION HISTORY TO COMMUNITY CARE PROVIDER. (a) In General.--Section 1703C of title 38, United States Code, is amended, in subsection (a), by adding at the end the following new paragraph: ``(8) The standards established under this subsection shall require the Secretary to transmit a history of opioid prescriptions contained in records of the Department regarding a covered veteran-- ``(A) to a non-Department health care provider through whom the Secretary furnishes health care, pursuant to section 1703 of this title, to such covered veteran; and ``(B) through a Third Party Administrator.''. (b) Definitions.--Such section is further amended, in subsection (c), by adding at the end the following new paragraphs: ``(3) The term `Third Party Administrator' has the meaning given such term in section 1703B of this title.''. <all>
