Kelli Hillerman selected to lead Sullivan County Health Department

Click the + Icon To See Additional Sharing Options Shares Kelli Hillerman The Sullivan County Health Department Board of Trustees and Administrator Deborah Taylor have announced the appointment of Kelli Hillerman as the department’s interim administrator beginning May 1 through July 31. Hillerman will officially assume the permanent role of administrator on Aug. 1 following Taylor’s retirement on July 31. Hillerman joins the Sullivan County Health Department with a public health and nursing background spanning nearly 30 years, including 26 years devoted specifically to public health service. Her professional experience includes work in communicable disease management, epidemiology, emergency preparedness, Women, Infants, and Children services, public health initiatives in educational settings, and regional leadership responsibilities. A longstanding member of the Sullivan County community, Hillerman brings academic credentials that include a Master of Public Health degree from A.T. Still University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Phoenix. According to the Sullivan County Health Department, Hillerman’s career has centered on prevention efforts, improving health outcomes, building partnerships to strengthen rural health resources, and advancing preparedness efforts to help communities respond to public health challenges. Department officials said Hillerman emphasizes trust, transparency, and collaboration in public health leadership. The department noted her focus on working alongside residents, families, organizations, and public health professionals to address local health needs and improve community well-being. Deborah Taylor is scheduled to retire July 31 after serving as the department’s administrator, with Hillerman taking over leadership responsibilities the following day.
