Creating Deaf Disciples [0:00-2:40]

Hello, everyone. Welcome to Deaf Church Wear Chat. I am Carly, and I am from Deaf Bible Society working in the office here. So happy that you're here to partake in our first release of our first episode of our podcast and our first honor guest is Long, Long, and he is from Sugarland, Texas. And this whole podcast is really a conversation to have true authentic dialogue and spotlight deaf churches and their experiences and the deaf leaders in those churches and what it really looks like to belong and grow in a deaf church. And the deaf church wearer isn't just a church about finding a church, but this is really a conversation that wants to discover what happens after you are part of the church, after you take ownership and getting connected and dive in. So we want to discover more about discipleship and what it looks like to become a disciple and someone who makes disciples. So now I'm going to hear more about what Long has to say, and thank you so much for being here long. I'll turn it over to you for you to introduce your show and share a little bit more about your heart for deaf ministry or discipleship. Thank you so much, Parley. I'm really happy to be here. My name is Long, Long, and this is my name sign, really simple. And what makes me who I am is that I am the observer type. I tend to watch and really observe people. I don't talk much. Just learn and really listen to everyone's side of their story. That's just my personality type. I became a Christian back in 2006, and from that day forth, I continue to grow in God's word daily. I am a member, as Parley mentioned, at a church, DHC, Deaf Heart Church, located just southwest of Houston in Sugarland. Currently, we have about 30 members strong, and we are continuing to grow, and I am one of six teachers that currently after church, after the message is done, we have a group called Faith Builders where we learn scripture, explain what is meaning and tend for key terms, how it applies to our lay-by-lives, and when we face the real-world circumstances.

{# E23 (Nick, ruling section 1 answer 10): quoting a bill or a court opinion works the way quoting a news article works. Select a passage above and the same panel opens: the passage goes to the official you choose, with this document's own address as its source and its own type. #}
