Driver Charged After Crash Near Fort Wayne Walgreens Injures Woman

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) — A Swayzee woman is facing multiple operating while intoxicated charges following a Tuesday morning crash near a Walgreens at the intersection of Dupont and Tonkel roads in Fort Wayne, according to Indiana State Police. The crash happened around 8:20 a.m. on May 5th while an Indiana State Police trooper was patrolling the area. Police said Kayla Brooks, 31, of Fort Wayne, was inside the Hyundai at the time of the crash. She suffered injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Carver also received emergency medical care at the scene before being transported by ambulance to a hospital.
