Vol. II p. 39. When Deputy Dixon arrived, his mission was to assist Manuel in removing her disabled vehicle from the lane of traffic and to ensure safe travel on the roadway. Manuel, the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, had previously declined an offer from a bystander to be pushed off the roadway.
