Elder and Sister Stevenson Urge Young Adults to Deepen Conversion to Jesus Chris [0:00-2:32]
I marvel at His wondrous creations, worlds without number. Elder Gary East-Evansson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and his wife Lisa encouraged young adults to strengthen their testimonies of Jesus Christ during a worldwide devotional in early May. We're particularly overjoyed to be speaking to young adults. I feel energized with every interface that I have with you. I am amazed at your capacity and your love of the gospel of the Savior. The Stevenson's and young adults visited an observatory and a planetarium in Utah for the Cosmos-themed broadcast. I find this to be a remarkable metaphor for me and I believe for each of you in our journey to deepen our conversion of Jesus Christ, a journey really which is never ending. We should not liken the depth of our conversion to reaching the bottom of the deep end of the pool, lake or even ocean. We can go so much deeper, deeper than the Mariana trench, deeper than those spectacular images of galaxies, millions of light years away. If we ever feel our conversion is complete, let's invite ourselves to be amazed that we can always deepen our conversion and faith in Jesus Christ in his atonement. One thing that I can do to deepen my conversion to Jesus Christ is carefully pondering the sources that I come across and finding my strength in doctrinal sources such as the scriptures and words of the prophets instead of worldly sources. I've noticed that we can be distracted often, can't we? To take time away from this quest to deepen our conversion. I thought that came to me while we were talking is to deepen my conversion to Christ, is also to deepen my devotion to Christ, to deepen how much time I give to Christ, to go on a mission and serve every way I can. One thing I can do better is to emanate the light of Christ in my day-to-day life to other people. The restored church of Jesus Christ is built upon a foundation of apostles and prophets with Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone. Along with dedicated file leaders, family and loved ones, you are not alone. We love you.
