Omai Gold Mines (TSXV:OMG) - 8Moz Gold Project Advancing Rapidly [20:10-25:12]

yeah the they're they're producing a million barrels a day I think starting next year it's about 1.2 million barrels a day so they've become a formidable oil producer um yeah so it's bringing affluence for sure to the country and uh they're predicting that next year that the GDP per capita in Guyana will be the highest in the world um mainly because the population is very small but uh obviously that's a that's big oil revenue for them and so they move fairly quickly and I would just say the one thing I think we've talked about um some of the infrastructure projects so the road down that goes by Omai uh down to Brazil is being paved and it's always been paved halfway to the town of Linden which is the second largest town in Guyana and uh now yeah actually Jason Brewster our VP operations he drove down there just last week and uh he it's paved to the Omai junction so the Omai junction from there it's only 10 kilometers in so yeah so that's a that's a big deal for us and so he said there were a few patches long the way that weren't yet paved but but it took him just over three hours to get from the airport in Georgetown uh down to the down to Omai which is unbelievable right yeah yeah I've done a few of those journeys uh on similar routes without the paving and uh yeah then the difference is noticeable but um yes for for sure um well there's an Africa uh right here okay right we're in terms of this kind of parts production I I'm sure they I guess I'm a one-on-one sound like I know this thing is big I know the grades good I know the the the economics will stack up and gold prices doing it's the heavy lifting as well so it's all kind of timings beautiful right but they can pass through to production reminds investors what exactly the buying into with this this team you you've delivered big it's attractive how far do you guys take it well I guess uh you know the thing is on these projects we try and do everything right I mean that's that's bottom line quality work and everything else um you know I was very happy to uh you know kind of we had enough data to rework the models and the wireframes so again the integrity of the design of of everything and the interpretations of all our data to date I think are pretty solid um you know I think they you know we are doing everything to they call it the risking of project it's basically all those things that you know you you need to do or questions people ask and you want to be able to move forward on all those things that are important to a project so metallurgy you know metallurgy I think we've talked about that um you know we actually have 73 samples in at sgs one of the labs it does the metallurgical test work and we start to get that that's all gonna come together uh the first phase of the metallurgy for the PEA um that's important because for some projects you know some projects they don't work because there's something oh something wrong with the metallurgy or something complex uh so that they can't get good recoveries there's two things here Matt one this was in production before and we we are essentially looking now at extensions of what was mine before and process before so you know it it used to be 92 93 percent recoveries 35 percent of that was uh gravity circuit probably gonna be the same all of all the indications are we're at those same levels so so we're doing those studies moving that forward we have the tailings facility which most projects at the stage would not have but you know we we try you know we've moved forward to um preeds that yes there is in fact you can have two dam raises they're in good shape uh we can move forward so now we're going to the next level which is okay let's get serious you know how do you actually build those uh dam constructions where's the material from how much material so so we're moving all of that forward so you know at some point in time you know whether it's us or someone else who comes into mind it you know we would have to expand our team um but I mean all of the work we do um it's such that you know if we have to build it if that if we end up going that route we bring in uh obviously the talent that that builds minds will be in good shape um likewise if somebody decides they want to there's it somebody wants to buy the project and it makes sense to our shareholders there's a good value proposition for them again how do you get the best value proposition when is is have a project that all of those things
