Omai Gold Mines (TSXV:OMG) - 8Moz Gold Project Advancing Rapidly [15:05-20:10]

we'll probably be expanding the resource again so there'll still be that effect as well right and obviously PEAs have a very different set of demands from like a PFS or a piece of all these studies so that again presumably informs your your your your your drilling I'm can I ask in terms of you got money to do what you need to do you sure if I spend on a rep for the last 18 months for for sure but when you look around in the region that you know deals like you know G mining ventures and G2 and reunion before that does it sort of give you confidence that the money's going to be there when when you need it when you know when you move to through the development phase oh yeah I mean I guess it always depends on the market the gold price but I think one you know because Guyana is so pro mining as well it's pretty clear that the permitting is going to go very you know on a good timeline you know we obviously have critical mass on the sides of these deposits you know there's a pretty high degree of certainty that you know the economics is going to be quite favorable so you know at this gold price it definitely but this this project is going to be able to weather a much lower gold price so so I think yeah no I I think that the the money is definitely there for projects like this that you know you've got good permitting jurisdiction great great infrastructure um you know we were just talking about the road we should talk about some of the infrastructure in the road development type things but but yeah I mean I I think uh not was staying the fact that most of the major companies are I think I saw something today like uh when we start seeing the year-end financials as I say if we have um the it's going to be uh tremendous cash flow into these companies and what are they going to do maybe increase the dividends but there is a lot of pressure for them to expand their production and how are they going to do that and they're going to do that through projects like this um you know when you get into the major companies again to me they're always looking for a long-life minds expandability um you know good grades always win uh real time to production not too bad you know there's there's a lot of you can check the boxes on all those things absolutely like you just you just come back you've been a been in country the can you you've always talked about good political support um there when it comes to the um permitting um and any any other kind of oversight and regulation that in country I know the prime money but what does that actually convert into in terms of a timeline um you know are they looking to make this easier for you um well I think I think they're they're being supportive of well they're being supportive of economic development in many many areas they're building a lot there's a lot of infrastructure projects they're building uh or just starting into uh the tendering for a deep water port that can serve us uh a trade route basically down to northern Brazil so you know they're building hospitals bridges roads uh you name you know uh big power facilities things like that so um I think similarly there's strong support for the building of large-scale minds like this because because of the employment and not just the employment the employment in the interior and I think there's a recognition partly because oh my I was in production before um you know they understand how the benefits are brings to the local communities right in the quality jobs uh you know and and people we don't have any communities very close but uh the closest one's about 34 kilometers it's small and then lindons maybe a hundred kilometers 105 kilometers and and people there I mean if there's jobs for their children and and good jobs you know modern minds have have you know they're electronic the jobs are you know they're a lot of high-tech aspects to things these days so their their kids don't have to go to the coast to go to Georgetown or go to another country to work I mean every every parent wants that right they want their kids working close to home where they can you know see their their families raised right yeah but for sure and I could say what it kind of brings to the community but we'll say the country as a whole um and i'm sort of intrigued by the sudden influx of money for infrastructure bill build out um where's that come from why why the sudden interest in going on I mean if we did that this conversation you know five years ago that wasn't there was that I'm purely market thing was that kind of economic development strategy which the government's been working on yeah I mean the main thing is I think we've talked about it a bit and but uh Guyana was a fairly poor country but offshore oil was discovered in 2015 and of course those things can develop very quickly so it's a consortium but led by exon mobile and I mean they were cash flowing by I think 2019 and so uh

{# E23 (Nick, ruling section 1 answer 10): quoting a bill or a court opinion works the way quoting a news article works. Select a passage above and the same panel opens: the passage goes to the official you choose, with this document's own address as its source and its own type. #}
