UPDATE: As of Tuesday evening, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that James Edward Jones has been found safe.
————————————————–
The Chillicothe Police Department has issued an endangered silver advisory following the disappearance of a 93-year-old man Monday night.
Authorities reported that the incident occurred at approximately 8:30 p.m. on April 27 at a residence located at 1001 Smith Street. According to the
Missouri State Highway Patrol
, James Edward Jones left his home to visit a nearby store but did not return.
Investigators believe Jones is driving a gold 2011 Toyota Corolla equipped with black rims and displaying Missouri license plate NC3R3D. The vehicle was last observed traveling in an unknown direction along Smith Street.
Officials said Jones has a severe memory deficit that significantly impairs his ability to process and evaluate information, increasing concern for his safety.
Jones is described as a white male standing 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing approximately 175 pounds. He has white hair, blue eyes, and a long white beard, and he wears glasses. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a red and black sweater, blue jeans, and black shoes.
Anyone who has seen Jones or the vehicle, or who has information related to the advisory, is urged to call 911 or contact the Chillicothe Police Department at 660-646-2121.
