USMC 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines Relief & Appointment Ceremony | Defense Now [9:54-14:54]

First off, Sergeant Major Taylor. Thank you. Thank you for everything. We've been serving together for a lot of the last ten months since I've come to this formation and served as the EXO, and I've served with many Sergeant Major before, but you were something special. You and I, all right, I think after the last two weeks of AFX, we are pretty thoroughly trauma bonded, all right, trying to get out of Camp Wilson Clean, our own personal Dunkirk that we had there. Just kind of trying to wrap up that exercise. Just know, like, those memories, those times together working through problems, talking through stuff, trying to find a way to get to yes, make things happen. All right, I appreciate you. It's been a pleasure to your wife, Angela, and your son and your daughters. Hey, thank you for loaning us, your husband and your father. For this time that he's had the bloodline, you are his blood family, you are the most important people in his life, but the impacts that he has made on this family that he has over here and every one of these Marines in the formation is nothing short of profound. So thank you very much for everything that you have sacrificed by allowing us to basically have your husband have your father for a period of time serving with us in this formation. Thank you. It's our major trickler. It's going to be a short period of time work together, but like, I can already tell you are going to have a profound impact on this battalion, the impression you've made so far. All right, I'll have a lasting legacy. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with the bloodline and all the great things that this unit is going to accomplish over the next work of deployment. Thank you all so much for being here for this. It's our major. Ladies and gentlemen, Sergeant Major Emmanuel Taylor. Thank you coming out for the ceremony. It feels like literally just a few months ago, just took the sort of office to be bloodline nine. And time has flown by, but as Major Merchard mentioned, the plenty of times where we had close the work conversations and try to get to yes. I completely agree that we are trying to find it. Major Benning also former bloodline five shared many similar situations with him. Thank you for coming out. There's plenty of individuals here that helped me go through this process as the bloodline nine, the most decorated and stories battalion in record history. Thank you for coming out. I want to say thank you to God because obviously he has given me opportunities and he has left it up to me to succeed or fail. But for the most part, he has given me opportunities to succeed. I want to say thank you to my wife, who is the bedrock for my family. Long hours here at work, but I know she works harder hours at home, taking care of the family. And nothing I say will ever make up for this lost time that I'm not there at home, but I greatly appreciate and love everything that you have done for us as a family. I want to say thank you to my oldest destiny who just turned 11 last night or yesterday I do her. Always thank you for bringing me joy, tie, laughter, Bella, you amaze me every day in Antarctica, who is back home right now with Grandma. She's a little little ball of fire. So my family, thank you so much. And then for the Marines out in formation, thank you. Again, it's been an honor of privilege to serve as your battalion star major as bloodline nine. And I know that you guys have a long six months before you guys get on the ship and go underway on the 31st Mew. So thank you for everything you do. I look forward to seeing what you guys bring back. And again, thank you privilege and honor is all mine. Last, I want to say thank you the first sergeants, the first sergeants have been here throughout my time as bloodline nine as they checked in. We transitioned from the previous regime to new first sergeants, new company commanders, new command deck. So without them helping me as the battalion star major, I can be the successful individual I am. So I want to say thank you for each one of them. First sergeant Clinton, first sergeant Maineville, first sergeant Martin Zuma, first sergeant Rivera, and first sergeant Eisenhower.
