Cyber, AI, and identity: Elevating secure digital banking journeys [29:14-34:17]
meaning the consumer customer and the bank. And then you add in things like Open APIs and the ecosystem. Now you've got multi-party trust, where trust has to be asserted, it has to be portable, and it has to be basically cross-domain. It's a hard problem. And so when we think about that as a backdrop, you know, first, as secure digital onboarding is really, we consider to be the gateway to future retail banking models, establishing that initial trust. So automated onboarding underpins open banking, embedded finance and digital identity reuse across multiple parties. You know, weak onboarding foundations limit what banks can safely expose to partners, platforms and ecosystems identity turns onboarding into a reusable and secure identity capability across channels and services and partners. And so automated digital onboarding is really now the default and retail banks are under pressure to automate onboarding to reduce friction and cost and abandonment across digital channels. But automation without strong identity controls increases exposure to things like impersonation and synthetic identity and early life fraud. Identity really becomes the foundation of automated onboarding and ensuring that every new account is bound to a real and verifiable person. And you know, regulators are expecting onboarding to be risk based and not document driven and across many different Geos across the world. Regulators are modernizing their requirements for KYC and expectations towards more proportional and risk based controls. And one size fits all onboarding flows really create unnecessary friction especially for low risk customers and still miss things like sophisticated fraud. Again, identity plays a critical part in addressing this by orchestrating automated onboarding journeys that dynamically step identity assurance up or down based on the risk. And it's important to protect not just what happens at onboarding but after the account is opened as well. So most account takeover and fraud occur shortly after onboarding. When controls weaken and trust is just assumed because it was just established and verifying identity at account opening alone is just not enough to keep digital onboarding secure. And identity can extend onboarding trust into later interactions like log-in and transactions and things like device changes or account recovery in those scenarios as well. And remote onboarding is another factor here as well. It really demands stronger proof of the person without increasing privacy risk. So remote mobile first onboarding is becoming the standard but biometrics and live news checks are raising privacy and regulatory concerns. Banks need that high assurance proof that the real person is present without creating a liability. And that's again where identity steps in and using the right techniques we can ensure that strong controls like biometric assurance can be used without exposing biometric data. And at Ping, our platform really enables all of this. We provide the identity platform that allows banks to automate onboarding today while securely enabling tomorrow's growth. We secure automation by binding KYC and ID proofing outcomes to a persistent digital identity from the moment of onboarding so that can be reused over and over again. And it allows banks to automate onboarding while proving compliance through policy driven and auditable identity decisions. It really prevents that verified once and compromise later gap or set a different way at Ping, we want to verify once and trust always to continuously enforce identity assurance beyond onboarding. And you know, a key enabler again is that zero knowledge biometrics which really strengthens and allows the reuse of the identity once it's established. Awesome. Thank you so much Peter for some raising your thoughts. In the next section, I'm sure that in these on this webinar are eager to hear your thoughts on agentic AI and its scale specifically. So this question is to all three of you starting with Michelle and Satish and Peter in that order. As banks scale agentic AI systems, what are the most under estimated risks? How will robust and responsive AI governance evolve? And can you share a recent example where agentic AI based solutions deliver measurable business benefits? Yeah, there's quite a bit we are working on in the market right now. And certainly that's tested first on assisting frontline customers. I mean, I'll say the obvious like that is the safest place that we are starting and there's so many ways
