Johnson County Child Exploitation Operations Go On; 19 Arrested this Week
JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind.
—
Nearly 20 men from Central Indiana were arrested during a three-day investigation in Johnson County focused on online child solicitation.
The investigation involved several agencies, including the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, Franklin, Bargersville, Greenfield and Westfield police departments, along with Johnson County prosecutors.
Officials say about 100 people were arrested during the first six operations between 2019 and 2023. The investigations have been ongoing since 2019.
Johnson County Sheriff Duane Burgess said the agencies involved are working together to protect children.
“This is a powerful example of what can be accomplished through strong partnerships,” Burgess said. “Our agencies are united in our mission to protect children and ensure Johnson County remains a safe place to live, work, and raise a family.”
The men arrested include Kevin Butrum, Michael Roney, Angel Pineda, Van Biak Lal, Michael Gallagher, Mohanad Al-Mashraeai, David Nungini Mfulani, Chukwuma Offor, Kaden Brown, Brock Darnell Clark, Dylan Lee Mullins, Brian Jovanny Diaz, Ivan Salinas Carlos, Lal Rawng Bawla, Sinay Regino Agustin, Donald Maxwell Mills, Axel Aguilar-Cuchillo and Christian Elijah Paul Cheek.
Eighteen of the men face child-solicitation charges.
Austin Buscher, 28, is not facing a child-solicitation charge in the court case reviewed by WIBC. His case involves a misdemeanor charge of making an unlawful proposition, identified in court records as patronizing a prostitute.
Buscher’s case was filed April 29. He later waived his initial hearing. A change-of-plea hearing was held Sept. 21, when the court entered a judgment. Court records also show he reported that day to review and sign his conditions of probation.
