LEMON DROP | Senator Blumenthal Says The Trump Administration is LYING About Ira [10:10-15:12]

And that's the beginning of taking back the country. And when people say to me, what can we do, both get others to register, get others to vote, make sure they get to the polls. I tell them to make sure that their identification all matches everything that's on the voter registration card and make sure that in the right place where they're supposed to vote on the card, that's what you can do now, and then go vote, bring your passport to the poll. Bring everything matches, because they'll try to stop you from voting. But this point is really important, because at the end of the day, what I'm doing here, if I'm questioning witnesses, what I'm showing is their incompetence or their dishonesty. But ultimately, what matters is the American people taking the lesson and realizing that we deserve better than these people. And the way to do it, as was done in Hungary, is overwhelming turnout, so he can't rig it. And it just floors me that they actually think that the American people, or even us, as journalists, that we work for them, but they work for us. They work for the American people, and they don't. It's so weird that they've gotten it twisted around. Are you going to, speaking of press, are you going to the, what, and how's the correspondence there? I am not. My man. When do we get back to Epstein? You know, I thought, I can't remember where I saw it, but where they depicted, you know, I think we get back to Epstein, you know, I don't know, because we've got Epstein, we've got the war, which is a distraction from Epstein. Epstein? Others, the low-pole numbers and all that stuff. And now, I think he's going to maybe wish he had gone to Epstein instead of the war. I don't know, you know, his great, his great feet is distraction. Yeah. You're not going to the dinner because, because I know you can get an invite, but you just don't want to sit in the room. I have been to the dinner and past years, and the morning after I say to myself, what did I do? Why did I do that? I mean, really? Well, this year, I'm not going because I was invited, I'm not going this year because I don't want to pretend, sit there and drink champagne and pretend things are normal with an administration that goes after the press at every single turn. I were the press, I would say, you know, we're going to the barricades. We're not having dinner. This time is not to sort of banhami, and we're all fine. Our democracy is really at stake. The problem is that at these dinners, it all becomes humor. These differences become humor, and you can't joke about it. You can't joke about it at a dinner where people all dressed up and they're drinking champagne, and then the next day, go to the American people and say, our democracy is under siege because of these people. We just had drinks with them. We just made fun of each other. We just made light of all our differences. I just think it destroys the credibility of our case against this administration to kind of celebrate in that way. I think that the fund, you can leave the fund to a place like SNL, so I'm going to ask you this. Who's a better Pete Hicksett? The SNL guy, or Pete Hicksett, because he doesn't really have to do much. You know, I don't like making fun of people personally, but that's his job. Colin Joseph is a good Pete Hicksett. Have you seen it? Yeah. He is great. I would say he's better than Pete Hicksett. Thank you, Senator. I appreciate it. This is really fun. I like doing fun stuff. Keep up the great work. Thank you very much. Really? Thank you. You have to take joy in a fight, but not laughing at ourselves. But I like to show that, because you have a personality, you don't often see it because you're the prosecutor and you're a defense attorney, but you have a good personality, so thank you. I'll tell you a story.

{# E23 (Nick, ruling section 1 answer 10): quoting a bill or a court opinion works the way quoting a news article works. Select a passage above and the same panel opens: the passage goes to the official you choose, with this document's own address as its source and its own type. #}
