Avery County- Thrill seekers in the North Carolina High Country can try out a new kind of coaster in Avery County. The Wilderness Run Alpine Coaster is taking reservations for riders who live within forty-five minutes of Sugar Mountain. The coaster uses gravity to send riders down the mountainside on more than 2300 feet of track. Workers are sanitizing the sleds after each ride and keeping visitors six feet apart while in line.
