[transcript] another federal judgment handed down today. This one affecting whether your kids can keep their social media accounts. Yeah, federal judge blocked the most recent state law requiring social media companies to limit teens and kids from their platforms. Judge Timothy Brooks ruled that act 900 past last year probably violates the Constitution and that ruling echoes one that a different judge made on an earlier version of that law. And in his ruling, Judge Brooks agreed with the state that social media companies do need to do a better job of limiting what kids do and say on those platforms. But the judge also said the law and similar laws in other states is too vague and ends up restricting free speech. In the end, the judge sided with the tech industry trade group net choice, writing that the law's provisions amount to sentencing speech on the internet to quote death by 1,000 cuts. We mentioned those similar rulings, one of which Attorney General Tim Griffin has already appealed.
