On September 12, 2018, Officer Workman received information from two CIs that they had been in contact with Egger and could buy drugs from him. Officer Workman and three other officers involved in the task force planned to conduct a controlled buy with the CIs later that day. Prior to the transaction, police officers searched the CIs and provided them with money and cameras.
