CONTRIBUTED
FORT WAYNE — State Sen. Liz Brown, R-Fort Wayne, was named the Indiana Sheriffs’ Association’s 2026 Legislator of the Year.
“This session, I was proud to author Senate Enrolled Act 76, Indiana’s Fairness Act,” Brown said in an announcement. “This bill will have a great impact on the State of Indiana, and I’d like to thank the members of the ISA who helped me craft this legislation and support it as it made it across the finish line.
“SEA 76 strengthens coordination between state and federal partners, and supports our law enforcement agencies with clear, consistent illegal immigration standards. I’m grateful for the partnership of law enforcement across Indiana and remain committed to policies that keep our communities safe.”
