Gov. Braun unveils Indiana All Payer Claims Database chatbot for health transparency

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Gov. Mike Braun announced the launch of the Indiana All Payer Claims Database , a public-facing chatbot designed to make health price and utilization data more accessible. A release from the governor’s office says the first-of-its-kind-tool “supports Braun’s health care agenda by emphasizing patient decision-making, greater transparency, and increased competition to reduce costs.” In a statement, Braun said Hoosiers deserve clear and accessible information about the price and quality of healthcare services. “This new chatbot makes it easier for patients and families to get the data they need, and it is another step toward greater transparency, stronger competition, and lower healthcare costs in Indiana,” Braun said. The governor’s office says currently, 26 states, including Indiana, have an All-Payer Claims Database established or in development. How to use the Chatbot Users can access the chatbot directly from the Indiana APCD homepage by clicking the Indiana APCD Chatbot link at the top of the page or selecting the chat icon in the bottom right corner of the screen. From there, users can simply type their questions related to the Indiana APCD and receive guided, interactive responses.
