Michael Frisbie (Grundy County LEC)
A Cainsville man pleaded not guilty in Mercer County on April 15 to multiple felony charges stemming from an alleged February pursuit that authorities say resulted in injuries to Harrison County Sheriff Trevor Place.
According to online court records, 40-year-old Michael Eugene Frisbie was arraigned, and a plea or trial setting has been scheduled for May 13.
Frisbie faces several felony charges in Mercer County, including aggravated fleeing a stop or detention causing physical injury, second-degree assault involving a special victim, receiving stolen property, armed criminal action, and two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm involving a dangerous felon or prior conviction.
Additional felony charges have been filed against Frisbie in Harrison County. Those charges include resisting or interfering with an arrest for a felony, aggravated fleeing a stop or detention causing physical injury, first-degree burglary, first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle, first-degree property damage, and armed criminal action. A preliminary hearing in Harrison County is scheduled for April 16.
A probable cause statement alleges that Frisbie fled after Harrison County Sheriff Trevor Place attempted to initiate a traffic stop. Authorities report the pursuit continued into Mercer County and ended on Egret Lane when Place was unable to navigate a turn, resulting in a crash. The sheriff reportedly sustained serious injuries in the incident.
Frisbie was taken into custody four days later following a manhunt, according to reports.
Investigators have also identified Frisbie as a suspect in felony burglaries in Harrison County. Court documents allege he unlawfully entered a building on East 192nd Street with the intent to steal and was reportedly armed with a deadly weapon while fleeing the scene. Authorities further allege he caused damage to the property and unlawfully entered a Polaris 1000.
In Mercer County, court documents accuse Frisbie of possessing two firearms and receiving or retaining an air compressor with knowledge that it had been stolen.
