Candidate: Jefferson Shreve - Connersville News-Examiner

SHREVE Age: Spouse: Mary Shreve Why are you seeking nomination as the U.S. Representative, District 6 candidate? I ran for Congress to deliver practical, conservative results for Indiana’s Sixth District, and that’s what I’ve done. I’ve worked to secure the border, support law enforcement, crack down on scammers, improve mail service, and help secure infrastructure funding. I’m seeking another term because there is more to do to lower costs, stop fentanyl, and strengthen our communities. What are the top three issues you see facing Indiana’s 6th Congressional District right now? The top issues are the cost of living, border security, and job creation. Families are still feeling squeezed by high prices. Our communities need stronger immigration enforcement and tougher action against criminals and fentanyl traffickers. And we need more good-paying jobs so people can build stable lives here in Indiana rather than watching opportunity move elsewhere. How would you address these if elected to the U.S. House of Representatives? I’ll keep backing policies that lower costs, strengthen border enforcement, and expand economic growth. That means cutting unnecessary regulations, supporting American energy, removing waste and fraud from Washington, and increasing penalties on fentanyl traffickers. I’ll also keep fighting for a stronger business climate in Indiana so employers can invest, hire, and create more good-paying jobs across the district. What is your background? I’m a lifelong Hoosier. While at Indiana University, I founded Storage Express and built it into Indiana’s largest self-storage company. I later served six years on the Indianapolis City-County Council, where I focused on public safety, fiscal restraint, and economic development. In 2024, voters sent me to Congress to bring a private-sector, results-oriented approach to Washington. Why should the people of Indiana’s 6th Congressional District elect you to the U.S. House of Representatives? The Sixth District should elect me because I know how jobs are created, budgets are balanced, and government should work. I’ve brought that private-sector mindset to Congress and focused on results, not noise. I’ll keep fighting for taxpayers, safer communities, stronger economic growth, and a federal government that serves Hoosiers better instead of getting in their way.
