She began taking gymnastics classes when she was six or seven years old. She started classes at Interactive Academy when she was nine or ten years old and stopped attending when she was thirteen. Her parents would drop her off and would not stay during practice. 1 Ind. Code § 35-42-4-3(a)(1) (2015). In 2020, E.L. disclosed that one of her coaches at Interactive Academy, Arnold, had sexually abused her. Arnold was a gymnastics coach at Interactive Academy from July 2011 to January 2016.
