One evening in April 2023, Michelle left the girls in the care of her parents, Benjamin and Susan Sandlin. Baker arrived at the Sandlins’ home to check on the children. Benjamin spoke to Baker through the closed front door, telling him he could not come in to see the children until Michelle got back. Baker threatened to kick the door in, and Susan called the police. Baker kicked the door, damaging the door and the door frame.
