He was parked in a loading zone by the front entrance near the bags of water softener salt, which were stored outside on pallets for easy loading. Meanwhile, Thomas Brown and his wife, Constance, were shopping at Meijer and paid for some water softener salt. After putting their other purchases in the car, Brown drove to the loading area to pick up the salt and parked behind Byrd’s car.
