from black indy live facebook: A snapshot of Governor Mike Braun’s travel from …
During that stretch from March to August records show Braun took 11 helicopter trips using the Indiana State Police aviation unit, which operates a fleet of multiple helicopters, traveling between Indianapolis and his home in Jasper.
The flights cut a 2.5 hour drive down to about 45 minutes, totaling roughly $23,000.
And these trips weren’t random.
This timeline includes stops tied to some of Indiana’s biggest and most exclusive events:
• Flying back after the Indianapolis 500
• Attending the Brickyard Breakfast with the First Lady
• Lincoln Day dinners and political events
• Statewide appearances, then returning home the same day
Eight of those flights reportedly landed at his Jasper residence, where taxpayers funded about $118,000 in security upgrades, including a helipad-style landing area.
