On July 1, 2024, the State charged Storck with Level 6 felony operating a
vehicle with an alcohol concentration equivalent of .15 or more. At his initial
hearing, Storck told the trial court he was planning to hire private counsel. At a
subsequent hearing, Storck confirmed his intent to hire private counsel. Storck
later wrote a letter to the court requesting a public defender.
