She called police, who detained K.W. that day. The State filed a delinquency petition the next morning. It alleged K.W. engaged in conduct which, if committed by an adult, would constitute domestic battery, a Level 6 felony. The petition contained several errors, including an incorrect middle name for K.W. and both a correct and an incorrect name and address for his mother.
