Langman described Lawson as in good spirits and eager to visit his girlfriend later that evening. After finishing up the work on his car, Lawson went inside the house. Almost immediately, Langman heard strange noises coming from inside and decided to investigate. But before he could make it inside, Lawson stumbled out of the front door “covered in blood” and clutching his chest. Tr. Vol. II, pp. 4547.
