During the robbery, the perpetrators held two CVS employees at gunpoint and struck one of them twice in the head. Meanwhile, a third employee hid upstairs, called 911, and reported that one of the perpetrators was a Black male. Officer Anna Flaming of the Carmel Police Department (CPD) was one of several police officers to respond to the 911 call.
