We Shape Our AI, Thereafter It Shapes Us [15:13-20:16]

It doesn't necessarily suggest stability on Sam's ship, does it? Well, look, I think if you're looking for stability, you don't look in AI companies, none of them are stable. You're a start-up guy. Keith, you've run these things. You know how it works. I mean, all these senior people, the COO, shifting to special projects, doesn't sound very reassuring. Well, special projects is probably important right now. That's probably, I should hope it's important. But, you know, I think you have to put the news into context, Andrew. OpenAI is the biggest and fastest growing start-up the world has ever seen ever compared to nobody, compared to Tesla, compared to SpaceX. There's nothing like it. It's many times bigger than anthropic. Well, many, I mean, that's... It's certainly less big. Anthropics catching up. I don't think so. I think the market's growing. OpenAI still owns the bulk of the market. Anthropics growing as well. I think catching up is a difficult thing to prove. I'm not convinced I would go with that. If it was true, I wouldn't mind admitting it, but I'm not convinced it's true. But they're both great companies. I mean, their number one and number two in the biggest start-ups, fastest growing start-ups ever. But we always have that in tech. Every generation, whether it's... No, but one or Web 2 or Web 3 or AI. No, they're all the biggest. It's not the nature of the economy. Yeah, but let's... I'm trying to address the quote you read out about the people. When you're in the middle of that kind of a scenario, stability is your enemy. I mean, you really need to be discussing your strategy probably weekly. And re-addressing your priorities probably monthly. And changing the deck chairs on the ship appropriate to your conversations. So I don't think this instability is a bad thing. I think it's a sign of life, not a sign of death. Where you gave away the deck chairs is the Titanic quote about shifting the deck chairs on the Titanic when you're about to hit the iceberg. We will see whether open AI hits the iceberg or whether Fiji Simo will save the company by acquiring TPN. There's a third strand of who gets to tell the AI story in your editorial, which in a way is probably more interesting than even open AI buying a media company or this AI dock. It's the markets keep. What are the markets telling us? And should do the markets tell the story accurately? Is this the best way of actually gauging what's happening? Well, markets are a combination of a rear view mirror and speculation about the future. So they never actually tell the story. They're a pulse on the present is the truth. It's interesting. One of our viewers on Facebook, Courtney Hamilton has left a couple of chats saying that she thinks that on the show we predicted that this would become a moral panic before anybody else. She credits me with that and she says she can stand. She's probably you. She's probably you're a AI who is court. What's her name? Courtney Hamilton. And when your girlfriend's key, you played her. I don't trust Courtney Hamilton. And then she then says she can sense the moral panic in the voice of the interviewer, which is you. And I don't even know my name for our Courtney. Anyway, back to the question. I think the markets are pricing these companies, you know, very aggressively. And they're probably both going to IPO this year. The market says that open AI might be more likely to IPO next year. So who knows. But you know what's interesting is Elon is going to be both of them. SpaceX with X AI will. There was a piece of big news this week, which you. And it is there are rumors it's going to be priced around two trillion dollars. Now, I've got a long standing or Courtney is a he, not a girlfriend. I'm a boyfriend. I don't mind. I'm open minded. Hey, Courtney. So you must admit Courtney, it's a reasonable mistake. My name is Keith Tear and in school, I was known as KT.

{# E23 (Nick, ruling section 1 answer 10): quoting a bill or a court opinion works the way quoting a news article works. Select a passage above and the same panel opens: the passage goes to the official you choose, with this document's own address as its source and its own type. #}
