Stop, Don’t Do That [20:43-25:59]

What was it then about Bobby? I mean, what you're talking about might not seem to some people to be that unusual. He cared. You spend as much time with him as anyone. You were his principal aide when he was attorney general and then when he was running, then when he was running for president in 68, what was it about Bobby that made him so unusual? At first, it was to work with his brother. That was a fair number of years. So he wasn't thinking about anything other as thinking about his brother. That was how he thought. And you know, he had ideas and give them his brother and were certainly important. But it was doing to for him being everyday something he can do for him and then all of a sudden he's dead. And so he certainly, he got a lot during those years and you know, going back in earlier times, he was all was interested, all was interested in people. And very interested in people very broadly where some of them they were like him and there are some that are not that he talked to to learn about it. So he was always open and interested in learning because to do be better in his own work. And of course, then when he lost his brother, he had to figure out who he was. And in the first part, understandably, his the way we would talk and think in the early time there, it was still kind of thinking about his brother. And people, some of his close friends said you've got to stop that. And you've got to be yourself. And again, over, over not a very long time. But to find himself, it just very makes sense. Over the time of about four years, he got himself, it's like walking or seeing that he's that much more better. And doing good things day by day, every day. Some people say that he was the last man to unite the black and the white working classes, the last great hope of a progressive populism. Of course, these days in America, we have a very unprogressive populism in power. Is there any truth to that, Peter? Absolutely. They had interested in all people who are well, anybody who's useful, but especially for low income people. And that means white as well as other black and other. And so he, that was his major, what he did, wanting went out as the whole US, US. He went out, it was about people who were low income people and being helpful in that. So, you know, he was just doing that every day. It's a little odd that the third son of the richest man in America, amongst the richest man in America, who had been the ambassador to the United Kingdom, went to the fanciest prep schools, then to Harvard and UVA law school.

{# E23 (Nick, ruling section 1 answer 10): quoting a bill or a court opinion works the way quoting a news article works. Select a passage above and the same panel opens: the passage goes to the official you choose, with this document's own address as its source and its own type. #}
