You met in Mississippi in the Delta. I'm not sure if it was Cleveland or perhaps it was Jackson, Mississippi. Both. We were first in the place of the Senate of the state. But the big thing was up the second thing that we... That was Cleveland where I think there was some iconic moments, but we Kennedy found a young child who was profoundly malnourished. Have you been back since? What do you think it's like now in Cleveland, Mississippi, in the Delta? Well, we're kind of out of going anywhere, because Marianne is pretty much staying in the house in New York. But maybe not, maybe not in the last few years, but did you go back to Mississippi much after 68? We did a little. I certainly went down there when she was living there, which was a couple of years. And not so much after that, a little bit. Some people peter think that some of these quote unquote voting reforms that are being championed by the Republicans is an attempt to wind the clock back before the 60s, before the civil rights activism, of Bobby Kennedy, of you and your wife. Do you think there's any truth to that? That the Republicans, or at least the Trump Republicans, are trying to return America back to a pre-civil rights era. Oh yes, they are. And it's horrible, and after he leaves, it will take quite a time to get things back into the right way. So it's just terrible. And having, having, hurting people on so many things. And then now starting out of the country and killing people. Peter, you know that Bobby Kennedy was the most important influence on your life outside your family. After his death, you dedicated much of your life to fighting poverty. Yes. Is that what you learned from him? Is that intellectually the real lesson you got from Bobby? Yes. My parents was in this and a couple of other people, but really, yes. I really was working with him and so close to him that I thought when he died, I caught what all I do now. And everything that I did was things that were connected to his thinking. What else did you learn from him beyond the fight against poverty? What other principles? Well, I think it's about people and helping people, both in things that were you make a ball there, or it may be a particular person. And the heart of all of it was that he would think about what would make things better in the city and in the country and the whole world.
