St. Luke’s pitcher Cooper Frampton named Player of the Week [0:00-2:35]
It's time to go beyond the grid on with our big Friday kickoff player of the week. A dominant night on the mound helping St. Luke's head coach reach 700 career wins. Emily Cochran is introducing you to the pitcher who made it happen. I'm here at St. Luke's with a very talented junior baseball player. The right way to go is to get the ball out of the corner. It's time to go beyond the grid on with our big Friday kickoff player of the week. A dominant night on the mound helping out the ball player. The right-handed pitcher delivered one of the most dominant performances. We've seen all season. He fired a no-hit shutout with 13 strikeouts and an 11-0 win over Clark County. Facing only 16 batters in a five-inning victory. That's why Rich's car washes here to present our player of the week to Cooper Frampton. I knew that it was a special game and I just had to go out there and win it for him and it just really helped the fastball's work. And the slider was getting swinging misses. And I just kind of just tried to go out there and just get the job done quick and so he could go home and see his family. And so we could get the special moment as soon as possible. It was just lights out. And anytime you've got a pitcher out there dominating there's a whole lot less pressure on the defense. I mean, I only put one ball in play. He's done an outstanding job for us this year and I don't only pitching but also hitting and playing defense as we've got other guys that have done really good jobs for us. I feel like hard work pays off. If you put in the work you're going to get this outcome that kind of everyone should want to have and that definitely want to have. Just definitely be ready to work hard. You can't expect to come out here and just be better. Get better. Do better than you did in a previous season. If you're not going to be going to put the work in in the off season and just have the you have to want to be good and you have to want to be the best to really come out here. You can't just come out here and try and be mediocre. It's really exciting because it's something different each week with different sports, different athletes, different talents, and it's really cool to get to know the player kind of off the field as well, more than just as a successful athlete in our community. And it's just such a fun thing to be a part of. I'm Emily Cochran, Fox 10 sports. And congrats to them all. It looks like they had a great time celebrating out there. Be sure to tune in next week for our next player of the week. And if you have a player, you think it should be recognized. Be sure to send their information to Emily.
