Trump gives update on Iran conflict; Oil prices spike after speech [0:00-2:27]

On to this now. This was big news earlier. President Trump says the U.S. is finishing the job in Iran and his first national address since joint U.S. and Israeli strikes began the war a month ago. It's day 32. The president claimed overwhelming victories in just these 32 days. He described the campaign as powerful, but warned, fighting will continue for several weeks to hit strategic goals. Notably absent, any mention of ground troops or diplomacy. Instead, the president told nations reliant on oil from the straight of our moose to start protecting their own interests. So to those countries that can't get fuel, many of which refuse to get involved in the decapitation of Iran, we had to do it ourselves. I have a suggestion. Number one, buy oil from the United States of America. We have plenty. We have so much. And number two, build up some delayed courage. Should have done it before. Should have done it with us, as we asked. Go to the straight and just take it. Protect it. Global oil prices climbed to $105 of barrel after President Donald Trump's prime time address tonight. Democrats called the speech incoherent, saying it failed to address key questions from the American people while Iran's foreign ministry is dismissing Trump's ceasefire claim as false and baseless. Well, before tonight's speech, President Trump became the first sitting president to appear at a U.S. Supreme Court case. He watched as Justice's heard arguments over his order to end birthright citizenship for some people. The order declares children born to parents who are in the U.S. illegally or temporarily are not American citizens. The justices are expected to rule on this case by the beginning of July. Anytime Democrats are suing to block a new executive order from President Trump, that titans mail in voting rules nationwide, the order calls for stricter verification and threatens to withhold federal funding from non-compliant states, while the president cites fraud concerns several states, including Arizona, are calling the move unconstitutional. Legal experts say the battle likely means no changes will take effect before the midterms. Around the world, all eyes were on the president's speech tonight. After the White House announced there would be an important update coming on Iran as the war is presently in its fifth week, Fox's Caroline Elliott is there in New York with the latest on the address.

{# E23 (Nick, ruling section 1 answer 10): quoting a bill or a court opinion works the way quoting a news article works. Select a passage above and the same panel opens: the passage goes to the official you choose, with this document's own address as its source and its own type. #}
