Sanibel Sea School to bring new summer camp sessions for hands-on marine learnin [0:00-1:27]

On an island like Santa Bel, the ocean is part of everyday lives here, and now there's a new opportunity for children to learn about it. I'm your Santa Bel Community correspondent Austin Chagarrotsky. Santa Bel C School is adding summer sessions to their iconic program. Protecting the environment and learning about it is the core of Santa Bel's culture. For more than 20 years, Santa Bel C School has played a big role in that. The school shared these videos from what they call their C-Squirt program. The youth education director Shannon Revard says that program is all about hands-on experiences. To teach kids about Santa Bel's unique marine ecosystems. This education is so important to fulfill that mission and connect kids to the coast and the environment, and we're so excited to partner with Sessie to do that. Be able to share the ocean with more kids. Revard says that partnership will now allow the C-School to use the Education Center's campus for the summer program. She says it's designed for children ages 4 to 6 and built around discovery. So in all those weeks, kids are going to get a lot of beach time, they'll get to go out, catch animals, learn about them, look for seashells, play in the waves, surf, do lots of great art projects. Revard says days like that can inspire the next generation of marine biologists. No matter what, our students grow up to be or do. We just hope that they have a strong love and bond for the ocean and for nature. Revard says the registration for the camps will open up on the C-School's website April 11th.
