Reaction to Trump’s first prime time speech on Iran conflict [0:00-1:51]
this morning reaction, pouring in following that speech. Let's get to Stephanie Ramirez. She is in Boston in Arlington with more forces morning. Hey, good morning guys. And this was a nearly or some 20 minute address of the American public. We're finding folks of this morning who are telling us they didn't watch it, but they did see the highlights this morning. Do you want to hit a few more points from the address last night, the president also noting the importance to doubling down here on the need to stop Iran from having a nuclear weapon. The president is speaking to plants to hit the country very hard in the next three to three weeks. He touched on gas, referring to prices as temporary, but his touting of the conflict as a major success is what we're mainly hearing reaction to this morning from people on and off camera. In the last hour, I had two people essentially say it's too early to deem a success when the world is still feeling the effects. A woman just told me now she must have stayed out of politics but called it very sad about what's going on and said this after and then we heard the opposite. I'm just going to lose and get left going to work every day and it's affecting my life. So I think yes, it doesn't make any sense what's going on. But overall, I just don't know. I think we're in the right place at the right time in the best we can with what we have. I'm trying to hit our allies to step up and do what they need to be doing and NATO's not NATO anymore. It seems like it's the North American treaty organization. So that's what we're concerned about. I think it was a success. There's always going to be detractors from one side of the other. But what's best for us moving forward is what we're doing there. And we also heard someone, guys, middle of the road down the road saying that they understand the conflict but also wanted to come to an end. This conflict has seen over a dozen service members killed since the beginning with many others injured. Thousands more headed to the region. There is a 60-day mark of when the president will need to see congressional approval if it continues past that. I'll send it back to you.
