Getting Answers: Bridge closure on Sanders Road [0:00-0:39]

A lot of time when gas prices are soaring, drivers in Pendleton say they are burning gas and time having to take the long way around a bridge outage. Sanders Road, off of Liberty Highway, has been closed since Helene hit nearly a year and a half ago. Our viewers says this is causing some major issues with detours, delays and deliveries. It's a county-owned road. I reached out to Anderson County's head of roads and bridges. They tell me that the edge of the road was washed out and they are working with FEMA to repair it. Sanders Road, that's engineers are also working to replace pipes under the bridge to make sure that the road doesn't flood again in the future. The spokesperson says they anticipate that the road will be repaired within two months depending on weather.
