Pete Holmes | Silly Silly Fun Boy (Full Comedy Special) [24:38-26:12]
If you're not laughing, it's because they don't know anything happened. Do you understand? They've been going strong with queer the whole time. They were grandfathered in to being politically correct. They were just holding on to queer, like GameStopstock. They just held on to it. They were diamond hands on queer. Then one magical day and summerville master like, this queer likes that I'm calling them a queer. Like, it's magic. They don't know what happened. Whenever I go back to Boston, they always say the same thing. They go, you've changed, kid. They're all California now. I think it's because I acknowledge the existence of human emotion. Like, I'll tell you the most Boston story I can tell you. A couple of years back, one of my best friends in high school, his dad got cancer. He got through it. He's okay now. But when he was diagnosed, he was close to Father's Day. So I decided to give him a call. And it was one of those friends that I've had for so long. I knew his landline phone number from Hart. You know what I mean? By memory. Called him up. Like, it was 1991. It was perfect. The dad answered. I was like, hello, sir. Just want to say happy Father's Day. Didn't mention the cancer. I just said, I love you. You know, I'm a dad now. I realize I learned a lot about being a good dad from watching you. Be a good dad. Happy Father's Day. It was a sweet call. He said, thank you. You hung on. It felt nice. Next day, his son, my friend, calls me. I saw his name on the caller ID. I was like, it's going to thank me.
{# E23 (Nick, ruling section 1 answer 10): quoting a bill or a court opinion works
the way quoting a news article works. Select a passage above and the same panel
opens: the passage goes to the official you choose, with this document's own
address as its source and its own type. #}
