Jim Banks 2022 Election Interview [0:00-1:47]

Well, for the last six years, it's been the honor of my life to represent Northeast Indiana in Congress, and we've been through a lot as a country, and these are important times with inflation at a record highs and gas prices as high as they are American families are suffering and hurting because of the policies of the current administration. And now we have one party rule of Washington DC Democrats have the White House, the House and the Senate, and in this midterm election, we have an opportunity to win the majority on the Republican side and counter the agenda of the Biden administration. I intend to be a leader on the front lines of the Republican Party majority to make sure that we do just that. It's got to be inflation and gas prices. We saw inflation go from around 2 percent when Joe Biden became president to over 8 percent today. It's the equivalent of families losing one month of their salary for the year. So that has a devastating effect on working families all over the Northeast Indiana. And gas prices are a big part of that too, energy cost, because on the first day of Joe Biden became president, he stopped construction of the Keystone Pipeline. He stopped a number of oil and drilling permits, and they instituted the Green New Deal-type Climate Change policies that sent gas prices through the roof. So the combination of inflation and energy cost has caused a devastating effect on working families. And it's the top issue that when Republicans get the majority, we have to address it. We have to find a way to bring down inflation, bring down gas prices, and make life easier for working people.

{# E23 (Nick, ruling section 1 answer 10): quoting a bill or a court opinion works the way quoting a news article works. Select a passage above and the same panel opens: the passage goes to the official you choose, with this document's own address as its source and its own type. #}
