Lewis also had an adult daughter, Shonterrance James, who lived elsewhere. Perry and Lewis had a volatile relationship. In fact, three years after the events that formed the basis for this case, Perry was charged with Lewis’s murder. App. Vol. III, p. 96; Tr. Vol. III, p. 197.
