In August 2011, Jackson was convicted of Class D felony sexual battery. As a
result, Indiana Code § 11-8-8-19(a) required him to register as a sex offender for
10 years. But in April 2013 and again in June 2022, Jackson was convicted of
failure to register as a sex offender, a Level 6 and a Level 5 felony, respectively.
As a result of these convictions, and due to tolling during Jackson’s periods of
incarceration, his sex offender registration period was extended to April 5,
2036.1
