One day, B.S. told Randle that their two upstairs neighbors—Larry Moorman and Shawn Barnett—had drugged and sexually assaulted her while Randle was at work. Together, B.S. and Randle reported the alleged crime to police. The officers to whom they spoke had concerns about B.S.’s account due to its inconsistencies but nevertheless opened an investigation.
