On October 31, 2019, thirteen-year-old K.G. was arguing with his mother when
he grabbed her side, which was injured. K.G. knew that his mother’s side was
injured and that grabbing her would cause her pain. The State filed a petition
alleging K.G. was delinquent for committing what would be Class A
misdemeanor battery in committed by an adult, and K.G. admitted he was
delinquent. The trial court placed K.G. under the supervision of the Elkhart
Probation Department, placed K.G. on probation, ordered psychological
assessments for K.G.
