In October of 2020, then-fifteen-year-old M.B. attended a party where gunshots
were fired. Police detained M.B. at the party and filed a delinquency petition in
Cause Number 71J01-2010-JD-310 (“JD-310”), alleging M.B. had committed
dangerous possession of a firearm, as a Class A misdemeanor when committed
by an adult;1 possession of marijuana, as a Class B misdemeanor when
committed by an adult;2 and possession of a controlled substance, as a Class A
misdemeanor when committed by an adult.3 At his October 9 initial hearing,
