Mark Bailey County of Origin: Marion Category: Criminal Decision: Affirmed Judge Vaidik and Judge DeBoer concur Hedrick and K.J. met when K.J. was a freshman in high school and Hedrick was a sophomore, and the two dated for “a week.” Tr. Vol. 2 at 106. Thereafter, K.J. “stopped speaking” to Hedrick until they “start[ed] a friendship again” during K.J.’s junior year of high school. Id. at 38-39. In the summer of 2022, when K.J. was seventeen years old, K.J. and Hedrick were friends, but 1 Ind. Code § 35-42-4-1(a)(1). the two had not “hung out.” Id. at 39.
