On the afternoon of July 31, 2024, Pee parked his Lexus sedan in front of his
mosque in Fort Wayne. He walked around his vehicle, opened the front
passenger door, pulled a 9-millimeter semiautomatic handgun from his
waistband, and placed it in the glove box. He then closed the door and started
walking toward the mosque entrance.

Suddenly, Pee turned and looked toward the street, returned to the vehicle, and
retrieved the handgun from the glove box. He pulled the slide back to load a
round in the chamber and walked toward the street.
