On January 25, 2022, MCF prisoner Justise filed a complaint for damages and
declaratory relief against Miami. The complaint raised various claims,
including claims of retaliation and property loss. Justise subsequently filed
motions for partial summary judgment on his property claims, and Miami filed
both a response and a cross-motion for summary judgment on the claim against
Department of Correction (“DOC”) employees Scott Kenworthy and Timothy
