State of Indiana ── Case No.: 25A-CR-02184 Court: Indiana Court of Appeals Date: February 4, 2026 Author: Judge Melissa May County of Origin: Lake Category: Criminal Decision: Dismissed Judge Mathias and Judge Felix concur In 2022, Montanez pleaded guilty, pursuant to the terms of a plea agreement, to Level 5 felony criminal confinement. 1 In accordance with the terms of the plea agreement, the trial court sentenced Montanez to three years in the Indiana Department of Correction (“IDOC”) but suspended the sentence to probation. Montanez’s conditions of probation required him to obey all laws, attend meetings with his probation supervisor, keep his probation supervisor apprised of his current address, and pay all fees associated with probation.
