J.I. was born in May 2008. On January 8, 2025, the State filed a delinquency
petition alleging that, on January 3, 2025, J.I. engaged in conduct that would
constitute the following offenses if committed by an adult: Count 1 - Class A
misdemeanor resisting law enforcement; Count 2 – Class C misdemeanor
minor consuming alcohol; and Count 3 – Class B misdemeanor furnishing
alcohol to a minor. J.I.—who at that point was sixteen years old—admitted to
the allegations in Counts 1 and 3, and the State moved to dismiss Count 2.
